This page explains, in plain language, what cookies and similar storage this site uses, why, and how you can control them. It's intentionally short — if anything here is unclear, email us at info@emptech.co.zw.
What cookies we use
We group cookies and local storage into three categories:
- Essential / functional — required for the site to work as intended: for example, remembering the cookie choice you make in the banner below, so it doesn't ask again every visit. If we add a session or language-preference cookie in future, it will live in this category. These are set regardless of your choice, since the site can't function properly without them.
- Analytics — Google Analytics, used to understand how visitors use the site (which pages get read, roughly where traffic comes from) so we can improve it. Only loads if you click "Accept all".
- Advertising — the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, used to measure and improve ad campaigns run on Meta platforms. Only loads if you click "Accept all".
How the consent banner works
On your first visit, a banner at the bottom of the page asks you to choose "Accept all" or "Essential only". Nothing analytics- or advertising-related loads until you click "Accept all" — not even in the background. If you click "Essential only", only the functional cookies described above are set, and no tracking script runs. Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage and remembered on later visits, so the banner won't reappear unless that storage is cleared.
Withdrawing or changing your consent
You can change your mind at any time:
- Use the button below to reset your saved choice on this site. The banner will reappear the next time you load a page, so you can pick again.
- Clear cookies and site data for emptech.co.zw in your browser settings — this removes our stored choice and any analytics/advertising cookies already set.
- Use your browser's or device's built-in tracking/ad-blocking controls, which work independently of this banner.
